The fundamental purpose of the contract is for the provider to keep our IT systems working.
The IT employed by the City Council is “traditional” with two servers and currently twenty two desktop and laptop computers. The Council uses Office 365 software. The replacement policy of the council has been laptop and desktops replaced each three years and the server each five years.
The City Council is expanding its work and it is anticipated the number of laptops and desktops will increase during the period of the contract
The City Council does not employ anyone with specialist IT knowledge and therefore relies on its support provider for technical advice and solutions.
