Southwark Council is seeking to procure a supplier who can deliver support services to Southwark undergraduates and recent graduates from less advantaged backgrounds so they are able to access high quality paid internships across London.
The supplier selected through this procurement process will deliver a flexible package of support to guide eligible young residents through the application and selection process so they are able to secure high quality internships with great employers in the capital.
The supplier will work closely with partners and employers to secure appropriate paid internship placements at London Living Wage; providing them with the resources, support, and guidance needed to ensure that the internship works for the young person and the host organisation.
The supplier should aim to target opportunities across a broad range of sectors and employers to place service users into roles where they will learn valuable workplace skills which will help them to successfully transition from university into the world of work.
This Graduate Scheme is part of a wider Council Paid Internship Programme to improve the social mobility for those who may not have the family or social networks to help them to get a ‘foot on the ladder’ with high calibre employers.
This contract will be within a budget envelope of £150,000 over 3 years until October 2022.
