The Service will establish and run a drug and alcohol misuse service in the borough of Lewisham in partnership with General Practitioners. The substance misuse service is to be made available to adult drug and/or alcohol users in Lewisham as well as their families and carers.
The service will be required to deliver a range of support interventions including one to one support and group work as well as linking with other services in the borough to promote recovery from all drug and alcohol misuse. The service will be required to move long term clients to recovery, deliver community detoxification from alcohol and ensure that hard to reach communities are able to access the service through their day to day engagement with GPs in the borough.
The service will form part of an overall treatment system in Lewisham which also includes a single integrated service for adults with complex needs and a young person’s support service for those aged under 18 years old.
