HSE’s Inspectors, Specialists and Scientists use a wide range of measurement and protective equipment to support their work. It is vital that this equipment is in the right place at the right time and calibrated and maintained to the highest standards (typically UKAS). HSE’s bespoke Equipment Exchange Programme (EEP), described in Section 3.1 ensures that properly calibrated/maintained equipment is always available where needed. HSE is seeking to appoint a sole contractor to manage the EEP and to support equipment Users on behalf of HSE. Minimal sub-contracting of certain aspects of the calibration requirement will be acceptable. HSE’s current contract for services relating to the maintenance, calibration, distribution of its instrument stock is due to expire on 31 March 2019 and HSE is seeking to let a replacement contract which will run for a period of three years commencing on 01 April 2019, with the option to extend the contract for a period of up to two years in one year installments.
