Who are Devon Cleaning?

Established in 2004, Devon Cleaning South Hams provide domestic and commercial cleaning services throughout the South Hams area. Highly experienced in a wide variety of services, their cleaners specialise in cleaning high-end homes and holiday lets, but also serve an array of commercial and industrial clients. They pride themselves on offering an extremely competitive service.

The Challenge

In the past, Devon Cleaning believed bidding for public sector work to be exclusively for large corporations. Being a small SME, they didn’t have the internal resources to complete their bids professionally and found managing the compliance and governance requirements daunting. They knew that they could offer value and diversity to the public sector, but needed help to consistently win bids. Why they chose Winning Tenders? In December 2020, Winning Tenders received an enquiry from Devon Cleaning’s Managing Director, Amanda Barnes, and Operations Manager, Harrison Hardy, who were looking to complete a tender for City College, Plymouth, with only two days until the deadline. This was their first public sector tender, having previously specialised in the cleaning of private business premises and holiday lets.

The Solution

In January 2021, Devon Cleaning engaged Winning Tenders yet again to work with them on the Selection Questionnaire and Invitation To Tender (ITT) process for the Cleaning Provision for South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council.

The Result

Devon Cleaning were successful in securing all three lots of the tender as the sole supplier in late March 2021. That contract alone is worth £469,000 over five years, representing an 18,000% ROI.
